Day 22: Study group is a blast!

You might be wondering how the words “study group” and “blast” go together.  When I think of study groups from college and grad school, I think of a lot of hard work and wanting to finish the assignment as quickly as possible so I could do other things.  The word “blast” did not go hand in hand with the words “study group”.

But, this study group is different.  As you’ve read in previous posts, I’m doing Kundalini yoga teacher training at Yoga West and every month we have a study group session.  We go over all the material we need to learn in order to become a certified teacher, but what makes this group special is we also are able to bond and connect to each other on a deeper level.

It’s so nice having a group of people who are also going through a transformative period of time.  We share about what’s going on in our lives and and also support each other if anything is wrong.  It’s a safe space to express what you feel.  I feel less alone in the training because I have these amazing people to share it with.  After every meeting, I feel uplifted.  It’s hard not to feel uplifted with your classmates and study group leaders are your biggest cheerleaders.

Being with these people in this setting makes you appreciate life.  Appreciate all the people you meet along your own journey.  I enjoy everyone’s company and love having our potluck dinners afterwards.

We were once a group of strangers brought together by Kundalini yoga and now we are connected by the teacher training experience.  I am so blessed to share that experience with these amazing people.

xoxo,

Minling
