Meditation for Prosperity

There are many definitions of prosperity.  Some definitions focus on wealth, other definitions on health and happiness.  I like to think prosperity encompasses all three and more.

To me prosperity includes an open heart.  When we feel prosperous, we tend to be more open and giving.  We are more willing to share and receive.  There is this beautiful energy exchange.

Over the last few months I’ve been practicing more and more Kundalini Yoga.  At the Yoga West teacher training a few months ago, Guru Singh taught us this set, Meditation for Prosperity.

I’ve been practicing it daily and definitely feel the effects.  My heart is more open and beautiful light energy are flowing my way.  It also helps that I did also receive some money too.  I won $17 in the mega millions lotto.  Not quite the $500 million + jackpot, but it was something!  I know it’s working and wanted to share this beautiful meditation with all of you.

Yogi Bhajan has said, “This meditation stimulates the mind, the moon center and Jupiter. When Jupiter and the moon come together, there is no way in the world you will not create wealth.”

  • Sit in Easy Pose, with a light Jalandhar bandh.
      • Jalandhar bandh is a slight neck lock.
      • For Jalandhar bandh, lift the chest & sternum up. Opening up and becoming bright!
      • Then, gentle move the chin down and towards your chest. As you do this, your neck should get straighter.
  • Focus your eyes at the tip of your nose.  Keep the eyes 9/10th closed.
  • Elbows are by the sides, forearms angled up and outward with the fingers at the level of the throat.
  • The exercise begins with the palms facing down.
      • When the palms are facing down, the sides of the Jupiter (index) finger touch and the thumbs cross below the hands with the right thumb under the left. *NOTE: Yogi Bhajan said that the thumbs crossing this way is the key to the meditation.
  • Alternately hit the sides of the hands together, first palms facing down, then palms facing up.
      • When the palms are facing up, the Mercury (pinky) finger and the Moon Mounds (located on the bottom of the palms hit.
  • Chant HAR each time the hands hit.  Once when palms are facing down.  Once when palms are facing up.
      • The “R” is not how we pronounce it in English.  The “R” is pronounced with a rolled tongue.  A great place to find out how to pronounce this word is through the 3HO website. When you chant HAR, bring the energy up from the navel point.
      • You can also use the Tantric Har tape.
  • Chant continuously from the navel, using the tip of the tongue for 3-11 minutes.
*NOTE: Yogi Bhajan has said, “This meditation can be done for up to 11 minutes.  It is so powerful in bringing prosperity that more than 11 minutes would be greedy.”
