5 simple ways to spread love every day

Love.  We all want it.

But, do we also give enough of it?

I saw Marianne Williamson speak a few weeks ago.  She shared that most people prefer LOVE over Hate (no surprise there), but she also asked, “Then why is hate winning?”

Great question right?

It’s because we don’t act on LOVE with the same courage and conviction as the people who act on hate.

It is true.

If we all spent just a few extra minutes a day sharing our love, what a difference it could make.

Because the more we give, the more we receive.

Just imagine if people all around you just started doing little things for you out of love.  How would it make you feel?  Would it brighten your day?

Random acts of kindness – Random acts of love – Random acts of JOY aren’t that common in today’s society.

But this can change.

It can change with you.

Spread the LOVE.  Like your life depends on it.

And here are 5 simple ways you can do this everyday.

1. Send a note to someone:

This could be any note.  It could say “Hey, I’m thinking of you.  Have a great day.”  You can send it via email, text, Facebook, voicemail.  Anyway you want to send it.

Wouldn’t you be pleasantly surprised and flattered if you received this note?

2. Smile at a stranger:

Do you notice people in line when you are at the grocery store or getting Starbucks? How often do you say hi to strangers or even smile.  You never know what the other person is going through so sending some unexpected love through a smile or a kind hello could make someone’s day!

3. Do something for someone else:

How great would it be if we helped each other out.  And it doesn’t have to be anything big.  Maybe it’s printing an extra copy of a report for a co-worker.  Maybe it’s bringing some food to a friend who doesn’t have time to grab lunch. Or maybe you bake some cookies for your friends. You can do something small, but to the person on the receiving end of your kind gesture, it could be something they never forget.

4. Spend time with your loved ones:

Make some time for your friends or family.  You could set out and do something with your loved ones each day.  And it doesn’t have to take long.  Maybe you go on a leisurely stroll. Maybe you talk on the phone. Carve out time and reach out to your friends and family.  They’ll love to spend time with you!

5. Do something for yourself:

Sometimes we forget about ourselves and sending love to ourselves.  So, also do something for yourself.  Maybe it’s a nice relaxing bath.  Maybe you do a nice meditation to clear your mind.  Nourish and love yourself too!
