What’s faith got to do with it?

2013 - What's faith got to do with it

Happy JOY DAY!

I’m so happy you are here!!

My big question to you today is…

Have you every experienced a time when it seems like life dealt you a few bad cards? Times when you hit a rough patch – a breakdown so to speak?

Don’t those times just plain stink?

So, what do you do when you are facing a rough patch in your life?

My answer is simple.

Have a little faith!

Why faith?

Great question.

Over the last few years, I’ve found that faith was one of the very few things that could lift me up. Faith gives you hope.

And I don’t necessarily mean faith in the spiritual sense (although it could if you are spiritual), but more so having faith that everything will be ok.

If you think about it, life is a cycle. There are ups and there are downs. The natural rhythm of life is birth, life, death, rebirth. Just look at nature and the different seasons. There is birth from a seedling, life in the form of a flower, death when winter comes, and rebirth in the spring.

So when you are down, you are not down for long. The key thing to remember is that there is always an “up” that comes right behind.

And if you are too focused on the down and don’t have faith, it’s easier to stay down and look at your situation as a problem rather than an opportunity for growth and new beginnings.

I mean, remember your relationships in Junior High or High School. You may have thought your boyfriend or girlfriend was “the one” for you and next thing you know you break up. In the moment it sucks. But looking back now you learned something and grew from the experience.

Like those breakups, there is an opportunity to begin again. Maybe your not loving your job. If you are in this place, instead of being upset or irritated by your situation, you can have a little faith and look at it as an opportunity to try something new.

And here’s your tweetable quote of the day:

“Life isn’t simple. But the beauty of it is, you can always start over. It’ll get easier.” -Alacia Bessette

So today, look to see where you can add a little more faith in your life.

And please share it in the comments below!

with peace, love, & joy!
