Zach Sobiech: Don’t wait to start living your life!

2013 - Tribute to Zach

A few weeks ago, I was blessed to have stumbled upon an article about a brave 17 year old named Zach Sobiech.

Zach was terminally ill with a rare form of cancer, Osteosarcoma.

The article talked about this brave kid who wrote and recorded the song “Clouds” and how his song and story inspired few celebrities to create a video of their own as a tribute to him.

I was so moved by how upbeat and positive he was about life despite facing death.  There are a million ways he could have channeled his energy upon learning his prognosis, yet, he chose to write a song for his family and friends to remember him by.

It was an inspirational story that touched many people’s hearts and when I first saw the article I knew I wanted to write about it and share his story. I was waiting for the right time.

Well…this is the right time…

This past Monday, Zach passed away leaving behind his beautiful legacy.  He wanted to be known as the “kid who went down fighting, but didn’t really lose.”  And he did just that.  He didn’t really lose at all!  He lived his last days to the fullest as you can see in the video below.

I’m sharing this story because he is an inspiration.  He didn’t let anything, even death, stop him from living and loving his life.

We can all learn from him.  Nothing is to daunting to face.  Life has challenges, but it also has beauty.   It is how you deal with the challenges that counts.

You don’t need to face death to make your life count.  You can have it count right now!  Just choose to make your life count for something.

Live Now!

His story is a great reminder of this.

Zach, thank you for being so brave and sharing your story with the world.  You have touched many people’s lives including mine with your beautiful soul and I am forever grateful.  My thoughts and prayers are with you, your family, and your friends.

If you’re inspired by his story, share how he has inspired you in the comment section below!

Zach’s song, “Clouds” is also available on iTunes and it benefits the Zach Sobiech Research Fund of Children’s Cancer Research Fund.
