How to create your own TRIBE

2013 - How to create a tribe

A common question people ask is how succeed in whatever they are doing.  Well, my answer is simple.  Success is lies in the TRIBE that you create around you.

Why a tribe?

Well, if you look all around there are tribes everywhere.  Families can be considered tribes. Nations can be considered tribes.  Religions can be considered tribes.  Sports teams can be considered tribes.  The same is true in nature.  Wild animals always travel in a pack, never alone.

There is truth to the whole notion of “strength in numbers.”  The more people you have on your side, the more likely you will succeed at whatever you want to achieve.

Just take a look at your goals!  What are you trying to achieve? Ask yourself, “who can help me get where I want to go?”

Maybe you are running a marathon.  Find people to train with you everyday so you stay motivated.

Maybe you are starting your own business.  Meet with other entrepreneurs to swap advice and contacts.

Even though there are many examples of tribes around us, it’s not something we naturally do.  Nowadays, there is emphasis on doing things yourself.  People don’t ask for help because they don’t want to look bad or they want to show they are capable at solving problems.  Asking for support has become a sign of weakness instead of strength. Nothing wrong here.  I’ve also fallen into this mindset many times in the past.

But there’s only so much we can do ourselves.  To truly be successful, you have to build a tribe of people around you — people you can count on to be there for you no matter what.

I strongly believe in the power of tribes so this weeks Simple Tips to bring JOY to your Life and Business is around you can create your own tribe.

Forming tribes help us get further along with our goals.  When we can create a tribe of people to support us, we are essentially building our own dream team.  You are only as good as the team you surround yourself with!

As Warren Buffet once said, “It’s better to hang out with people better than you. Pick out associates whose behavior is better than yours, and you’ll drift in that direction.” (you can tweet this).

When you have a strong support system, you are able to leverage their knowledge and shorten your own learning curve, thus giving you the skills you need to succeed at whatever you are doing.

So start looking to see who you can ask to be a part of your tribe! And comment below to let me know how you’re creating your and if you already have a tribe, how the tribe has helped you achieve your goals!
