giving love to my favorite peeps!
Marni Task / An amazing yoga teacher, friend, mom, wife, entrepreneur and singer. She does it all! She’s seriously wonder woman! Marni was one of the reasons I fell in love with yoga. Her teaching style is so inspirational and I was fortunate enough to practice with her for 4 beautiful years (including graduating from her teacher training program)! If you are in Cleveland, check out her schedule. She also travels to various studios to guest teach workshops and holds yoga retreats in Costa Rica!
Indu / An all natural lotion created by Marni! She mixes each bottle to perfection and even gives the lotion a little love with a mantra. My yoga students love this lotion. When the lights go off for savasana, they are so excited because it’s “lotion time.” Some people even call it yoga crack because the smell is so delicious!
Seventh Chakra Yoga / After moving back to So Cal, I was in search of a yoga studio I could call home. I missed having a community of yogis to practice with. I love this studio because it’s striving to build consciousness, happiness, service, and awareness in the community. It’s such a welcoming space and I’m honored to be teaching at the studio.
Yoga West / Yogi Bhajan, a master of Kundalini yoga, founded Yoga West after moving to California in the late 60′s. Kundalini is considered the most comprehensive of yoga traditions, combining meditation, mantra, physical exercises and breathing techniques; it is a Raj Yog, encompassing the eight limbs of yoga into a singular practice of excellence and ecstasy. I recently started practicing Kundalini yoga and its like nothing I’ve ever experienced before. I was so moved by the practice that I enrolled in the Kundalini yoga teacher training program! If you haven’t tried it and are looking for a little more from yoga, check this place out!
Cleveland Yoga / Cleveland Yoga is where I practiced yoga for 4 years while living in Cleveland. It is where I met some incredible people and friends. The inspiring teachers and friends I made there helped me learn about my self and find my true calling in life. I thank Cleveland Yoga for providing me the space to grow.
Cleveland Groove / I admire this company so much. Eric & Jamie, my friends from yoga, started this multimedia production company. They’re super passionate about photography and videos…so passionate that they jumped right into creating a business and started doing various shoots in the Cleveland area. Now word has spread and they’ve shot photos for the Yoga Journal Conference, Baptiste Yoga, as well as some well known Kirtan singers.
Julia Kuo / Illustrator-extraordinaire. I met Julia in Cleveland at a dinner party through a mutual friend. Ironically, we’re both originally from Southern California and ended up in the midwest. People thought I was nuts for moving from the sunshine to the snow. So when I met Julia, I was secretly glad there was another “crazy” person to relate to. But seriously, Julia does some fantastic illustrations for the NY Times and various children’s books. She also embarked on a 100 day journey drawing her favorite places around the Cleveland area. Julia is also responsible for my logo design. If you like her work, definitely contact her!
Nepal Orphans Home / Started by an American named, Michael Hess, Nepal Orphans Home attends to the welfare of children in Nepal who are orphaned, abandoned, or not supported by their parents. Their mission is not just to rescue children from abject poverty, but to enable the children to develop and realize their potentials. In 2010, I traveled to Nepal and met these amazing children. In a way, my heart never left Nepal and my life was forever changed by the experience. For my 30th birthday, I am decided to raise money for this incredible organization. The funds will go towards furthering the children’s education. If you’d like to donate, click here.
Nepal Social Treks / While in Nepal, I travelled around the country with the help of Nepal Social Treks. They are a top notch company run by locals. If you happen to go to Nepal, look them up and they will arrange everything for you. And I mean everything! They seem to know everyone in Nepal! I absolutely love them!
